GULU, MBALE, FORT PORTAL (UGANDA)
Every season, Bayimba travels along a number of upcountry towns in Uganda to host a series of Bayimba Regional Festivals, one-day multi-arts festivals that are organised to support the development of the local creative arts scene, give a platform to local talents and assert the relevance of Bayimba to the development of the Ugandan arts and culture sector as a whole. The Bayimba Regional Festivals have previously visited Mbarara, Gulu, Jinja, Mbale, and Arua and are held between the months of March and July.
In 2015, so far, three regions – Gulu, Mbale, and Fort Portal – are expected to host Bayimba Regional Festivals. Local artists of all disciplines are invited to submit their applications to join. Applications are accepted until 31st January 2015. You are requested to submit the following information (in case you submit your application by email, please limit your submission to 5MB):
- A completed entry form (download)
- A profile/short biography (max. 800 words) with recent picture(s).
- A presentation of your work (in case of music/film: one or two of your recordings on CD, DVD or MP3)
- A technical rider/data sheet
We will confirm receipt of your submission and assess your application. Please note that due to the many submissions received, we will only be able to respond to successful applicants. A modest performance fee will be offered to participating artists. For artists from outside the locality, modest accommodation, local transport and per diem will be provided.
We thank you for your interest in participating in the Bayimba Regional Festivals of the Arts and look forward to welcoming you!
